Alzheimers & Dementia Care

admin

At Holistic Hug, our nurses and caregivers are trained to deal effectively, compassionately, and patiently with the challenges presented by Alzheimer’s and other forms of Dementia.

Dementia is a degenerative brain disease that appears later in life, at more advanced ages. About 1 in 6 people over 80 experience dementia. Alzheimer’s is one well-known form of this devastating progression of memory loss, confusion, poor judgement, and irregular personality or mood changes.

The ramifications of dementia for the elderly and their families are extensive and challenging to manage. Although symptoms vary, memory loss is proven to be an initial symptom of this cognitive digression. Social withdrawal can also be an effect of these distressing life changes. As time goes on their ability to handle basic physical tasks like maintaining hygiene can also suffer.

Here at Holistic Hug, we can provide a safe space for your loved one to adapt with dignity through these difficult times. When a loved one’s memory begins to fade, we’ll be there to help them function through the various stages of these degenerative conditions.
